Shkmeruli is a delicious traditional dish from the Racha region of Georgia. Its main ingredients are young chicken, garlic, and milk.

Ingredients

  • Chicken

  • 1 tsp Georgian spice mix (Khmeli Suneli)

  • 1 tsp ground coriander

  • Garlic (to taste)

  • Milk

  • Salt


Preparation Steps

Step 1

Cut the chicken into medium-sized pieces and fry them in a pan until golden. Once cooked, remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.

Step 2

Add a small amount of water to the remaining fat in the pan. Add 1 teaspoon of khmeli suneli, 1 teaspoon of ground coriander, plenty of crushed garlic, and salt. Bring to a boil.
Once it starts boiling, return the fried chicken pieces to the pan and pour in enough milk to almost cover the chicken. Cover with a lid and bring to a boil again.

Shkmeruli is ready!
