Batumi Botanical Garden: A Green Escape by the Black Sea

Batumi Botanical Garden

Batumi Botanical Garden is one of Adjara’s most relaxing attractions. Located on a green hillside north of Batumi, it combines subtropical vegetation, themed plant collections and beautiful viewpoints over the Black Sea.

What to Expect

The garden is divided into geographic sections featuring plants from East Asia, the Himalayas, the Mediterranean, the Americas, Australia and other regions. Shaded paths lead through bamboo groves, flowering areas and tall forest-like sections.

Because the grounds are large and hilly, visitors can spend several hours exploring. Electric transport is sometimes available inside, but walking provides the best chance to discover quieter corners and coastal viewpoints.

Visitor Tips

  • Wear comfortable shoes and bring water.
  • Visit in the morning or late afternoon during summer.
  • Allow extra time for photography and sea views.
