🏰 Ghebi

Ghebi was once home to medieval defensive towers, some of which still stand today. According to legend, the village was founded by a painter who sought refuge here — its name in Svan language means “deep place.”

Since 2007, Nikortsminda has been listed on UNESCO’s Tentative World Heritage list.
